Wood-plastic composite

Wood-plastic composite (WPC) is one of the fastest-growing sectors in today's plastics industry, not least because of the design possibilities it offers through the best of both materials.

WPC typically consists of a fine wood waste, such as hardwood, softwood or plywood, which is mixed with various plastics such as PVC or PP. The powder is extruded to a dough-like consistency, and extruded again to the desired shape. Additives such as colorants, stabilizers, and reinforcing agents help tailor the end-product for its area of application.

With a cellulose content of up to 70%, WPC behaves like wood, and can be cut, shaped and fitted with conventional woodworking tools. Because WPC is extremely moisture-resistant, it's ideal for exterior use: It requires little or no maintenance, and is resistant to rot.

Primo offers a range of WPC products for glazing beads, crossbars and isolators. Contact us for attractive, cost-saving solutions for windows, doors and cladding.
