Polyolefin monofilaments for the technical fabric industry
Polyolefin monofilaments are used as components in the technical fabric industry, filtration systems, fencing, fishing nets and ropes, and medical technology.
Our wealth of expertise enables us to design technical HDPE monofilaments according to our customer's requirements.
Increased focus on recycled monofilaments
In times when more sustainability is demanded from the plastics industry, we see it as our duty to focus our developments and innovations on recyclable products.
Particular emphasis is placed on ocean plastic and recycled components.
Especially for the rope segment we investigate raw materials sourced from the maritime industry with very good results. Comparable to virgin material but with a much better story behind it.
Taking back customers' leftovers is also part of our sustainability concept for the production of monofilaments: We collect and re-use the spools, and regrind the remaining yarn.
Excellent material properties
Our HDPE and PP/Polypropylene-monofilaments made have excellent product properties. They are available in a wide range of standard colors; special colors can also be realised upon customer request.
HDPE for optimum resistance
Our HDPE monofilaments have excellent product properties and can be provided with UV stabilization and flame retardancy according to customer requirements and specifications.
- Very low water absorption
- Resistant to acids, alkalis, and salt solutions
- Cold-resistant down to -50 °C
- Insulating
- Physiologically harmless
- Available spun dyed
- Food grade (FDA)
- UV Stabilized
Polypropylene for filtration applications
Polypropylene (PP) is characterised by its low specific gravity and minimal moisture absorption. Another advantage is its resistance to a wide range of solvents (non-oxidizing acids and alkalis) in the normal temperature range. These properties make polypropylene particularly attractive for filtration applications.
- High chemical resistance
- Resistant to alkalis and acids
- Very low water absorption
- Low electrostatic charge
- Very low thermal conductivity
- Self-extinguishing
- Insulating
- Available spun dyed
- Food grade (FDA)
- UV Stabilize
Applications
Primo PP and HDPE monofilaments are used in various industries and applications:
- Monofilament yarns are used in fences thanks to their UV, they help to keep the product strong
- Ropes for offshore and transport solutions
- Geotextile solutions
- Fishing nets
- Filtration applications

What are HDPE monofilaments? add
HPDE (High-Density Polyethylene) monofilaments are thin, single-strand fibers made from high-density polyethylene. These monofilaments are commonly used in a variety of applications, including fishing lines, ropes, and nets, as well as in various industrial and agricultural settings.
High-density polyethylene is a thermoplastic polymer that is known for its high strength, durability, and resistance to chemicals and abrasion. It is commonly used in the manufacture of products that require high strength and toughness.
Benefits of HPDE monofilaments are their high tensile strength, low stretch, and low memory. This means that they are less likely to break or become tangled during use, which makes them ideal for fencing solutions or fishing nets.
What are PP monofilaments? add
Polypropylene monofilaments are single-strand fibers made from polypropylene. These monofilaments are commonly used in a range of applications, including fishing lines, ropes, and nets, as well as in various industrial and agricultural settings.
Polypropylene is a thermoplastic polymer that is known for its strength, durability, and resistance to chemicals and UV. It is commonly used in the manufacture of products that require these properties, such as packaging materials, automotive parts, and consumer goods.
PP monofilaments are popular due to their high strength, low stretch, and resistance to abrasion. They are also relatively lightweight. Overall, PP monofilaments are a versatile and widely used material that offer excellent performance in a range of applications.
In addition to fishing, PP monofilaments are used in a range of industrial and agricultural applications, such as the manufacture of safety netting, geotextiles, and filtration materials.
