Primo is growing its business in the field of hybrid armouring for offshore subsea cables. This is our first time exhibiting in Asia.

Primo Offshore hybrid armouring and shaped fillers

First-class protection for subsea cables

When Primo Offshore hits the Beijing Airport fairground, it’s the first time to attend the international exhibition China Wind Power. Primo Offshore will focus particularly on the technology behind hybrid armouring, showcasing examples from previous and current projects.

Typically, Primo’s hybrid armouring for subsea cabling applications consists of a fibre combined with a polymer to provide cables in offshore subsea systems and installations on the seabed with optimum support, stability and protection. We support market-leading manufacturers of power cables, power umbilicals, and umbilicals.

Extruded plastic profiles protect, insulate and stabilise the various components of the power umbilical, including electric cables for transmitting power and signals, as well as high-, medium- and low-pressure tubes for carrying hydraulic liquids and chemicals.

We offer a wide range of plastic material options.

Plastics are chosen for their corrosion resistance, durability, and unique sealing properties. At Primo, we work with a range of thoroughly tested plastic types. Some materials and fibres are better suited to specific applications than others. Properties that distinguish the different materials include tensile strength, modulus, elongation and conductivity, among others.

The final design of an extruded plastic profile or armouring depends on factors such as environmental conditions, chemical exposure, load requirements and industry regulations. Custom development of the profile enables precise design and manufacturing to meet the unique requirements of offshore projects.

Primo will be exhibiting at China Wind Power, which is taking place from 20 to 22 October in Beijing at the Danish Pavilion – Booth W1-D02-12.
