Profile types for EV batteries

Structural profiles

Plastic profiles are used in module housings and frames as lightweight load-bearing elements. They reinforce walls, ribs, and edge structures. They help to maintain geometry, absorb vibration and distribute mechanical loads between modules and the pack frame. Integrated design features support fastening, alignment and mounting. Often combined with metal structures, they contribute to weight reduction while maintaining stiffness and enabling the integration of sealing interfaces, including grooves for gaskets.

Insulation profiles

When applied between conductive components and structural parts, they ensure electrical isolation and system safety within EV battery packs. They promote controlled thermal behaviour by limiting heat transfer between cells and adjacent structures, thereby protecting sensitive components and maintaining stable operating conditions. In addition, when used in combination with Primo gaskets, the profiles contribute to system sealing, providing protection against moisture and contaminants while enabling controlled airflow where required.

Profiles for the cells

These profiles are directly integrated within modules around or between cells to provide spacing, fixation and protection. They preserve consistent gaps for thermal management (air or liquid cooling) and accommodate expansion. They can also dampen vibrations and reduce mechanical stress on cells, thereby improving durability. They also contribute to electrical insulation between cells and module walls and can integrate soft interfaces or gaskets for tolerance compensation and sealing within the module.
