Primo shows customized profile solutions for the international transportation industry at IAA in Hannover.
From the 25th of September 2014 to the 2nd of October, Primo will be part of IAA in Hannover, Germany. The IAA fair is one of the world’s largest venues for the commercial transportation industry, and at the Primo stand, visitors will be able to see and experience advanced solutions in extruded profiles for commercial vehicles: Door sealings, curtain side profiles, rain stops, tubes, hoses, tank straps and a lot more.
Primo’s specialist knowledge in the development and production of extruded and co-extruded profiles has made us a well-known supplier to the international transportation industry. From trucks to trains, from ships to cars, Primo supplies an amazing variety of extruded plastic profiles which form part of any modern vehicle. In fact, the demand for such profiles is constantly increasing, as new materials and methods are being invented.
The Business Area Director for Traffic and Transport within Primo, Joakim Häggblom, explains: “In the transportation industry, it’s often a question of finding alternative materials to replace traditional ones like metal. Extruded plastic profiles for frames, tubes, ceiling profiles and so on are recyclable and help reduce the weight of vehicles, so there’s a huge environmental benefit in using our profiles. And what’s more, new materials often make it possible to think in entirely new ways when it comes to building vehicles. We’re a vital part of this mega-trend in vehicle construction, because we know extrusion so well – and we know how to develop ideas together with our customers.”
DIY door sealings for trailer producers
Another innovation shown by Primo is a new range of standardized door sealings designed specifically for cooling trailers and truck body doors to a high specification.
But it’s more than that – Primo also offers small and medium-sized producers of trailers and truck bodies the chance to make customized gaskets themselves, using Primo raw materials and a custom-built welding unit.
Primo offers the producers full product training and instruction in operating the welding equipment.
For medium-sized and smaller trailer producers, there are significant advantages and cost savings in producing door gaskets themselves: Benefits in production costs and benefits in being able to deliver customized doors quickly.
You can find Primo Profiles at stand no. C67 in hall no. 25.
