The opening of the new production unit on 11 November 2022 resulted from Primo's profile production relocation from two factories in Neu Wulmstorf and Papenburg. The new factory will double Primo's production capacity of window and door gaskets in Germany.

Primo's new factory in Buxtehude is 9,300 m2, and it will have the capacity to double Primo's production of gaskets in Germany. The plant will initially have 12 production lines with the possibility of four more.

Director of Primo Germany, Oliver Beer, says:

"The opening of Primo's factory in Buxtehude marks our determination to improve and follow our customers' development constantly. At the same time, Buxtehude will now become a unified center to produce polymer gaskets, which was previously located in smaller units. We expect this to create significant synergy locally and in collaboration with Primo's factories in Berlin and abroad."

Oliver Beer also thanks the municipality of Hansestadt Buxtehude, which assists Primo in becoming well-integrated into the local business community. The city has supported Primo through an ongoing, very constructive dialogue and invited to network collaborations.

The facility in Buxtehude will significantly increase Primo's production capacity in Germany. In early 2023, the new facilities will also house five new production lines for Primo's offshore production, supplementing Primo's Swedish production for this business area.

The opening was preceded by months of work to wind down and move production facilities to Buxtehude. Plant manager Arno Jansen, Primo Profile GmbH in Buxtehude close to Hamburg, has been at the head of that operation:

"Buxtehude is a fantastic location. We are very much looking forward to becoming part of the local community, and we have already been well received by our neighbors and the municipality," he says.

An opening reception will mark the opening in Buxtehude for invited guests on 11 November.
