Primo Medico expands medical tubing production in Poland

A 30% expansion of the production area at Primo Medico's facility in Poland strengthens production capacity and supports our focus on consistent quality, shorter time to market and reliable deliveries of customised medical tubing.

For medical device manufacturers, time to market and sufficient manufacturing capacity are crucial. The expansion of the production area began in 2025 and is now operational, supporting day-to-day production.

With the production area expanded by 30% and space prepared for three additional extrusion lines when required, Primo Medico has created a more future-proof manufacturing setup for medical tubing.

Tomasz Grzywaczewski, Director of The Medical Department at Primo Medico, explains:

'We are well aware that time to market is an important competitive parameter for our customers, and we need to adapt our capacity accordingly. As we were already operating at full capacity, simply adding more production shifts was not an appropriate solution. With the support of our board and owners, investing in additional production facilities was the obvious solution to our capacity challenge.”

Primo's offshore journey began long before offshore wind became a global growth market.

Customised medical tubing for a wide range of applications

Primo Medico develops and manufactures customised medical tubing for use in areas such as fluid management, drug delivery and diagnostics, as well as for other medical devices.

Capabilities include:

  • Tubing and dispensers for guidewires

  • Non-PVC alternative tubing

  • Corrugated tubes

  • X-ray tubes

  • Single and multi-lumen tubes

  • Multilayer tubes

  • Bubble tubes

  • Wire inlay tubing

  • Dip tubes for pharmaceutical, home and beauty dispensers

  • Custom profiles for various medical devices

The expanded production setup also supports Primo Medico's growing focus on precision tubing for single-use fluid pathways, for which material selection, dimensional consistency and reliable manufacturing are critical.

Material and extrusion specialists at your service

Medical tubing is rarely an off-the-shelf component. Dimensions, tolerances, materials and functional requirements depend on the individual device and how it is intended to be used.

This is why Primo Medico works closely with customers from the early stages of development. Our polymer specialists, tool designers and extrusion experts contribute to the development process, helping customers progress from initial concepts and rapid prototypes to stable, scalable production solutions.

Our expanded production capacity enables us to support customers throughout this process, from initial development to serial production and higher volumes.

Meet Primo Medico at COMPAMED 2026

The expanded production setup and Primo Medico's capabilities within precision medical tubing will be among the topics presented at COMPAMED in Düsseldorf, 16–19 November 2026.

You will find us in the Danish Pavilion, Hall 8B, Stand E20.

Energy and Offshore solutions by Primo
Primo is establishing the Primo Offshore facility in the USA

Supporting critical energy infrastructure

For Primo, the connection between offshore wind and offshore oil and gas is clear.

The company develops and manufactures profile solutions used in submarine power cables, umbilicals and other offshore applications. These components play an important role in protecting, stabilizing and optimizing cable constructions that carry power, control the oil wells and signals across challenging marine environments.

While such components are rarely visible once a project is completed, they contribute to the reliability of infrastructure that is critical for modern society.

As offshore wind farms grow larger and are located further from shore, and as countries invest in new transmission links and interconnectors, the performance requirements placed on cable systems continue to increase. This places greater emphasis on materials, design, quality control and testing.

The industry's expectations continue to rise, but so do the opportunities.

Time to market has become a key competitive factor

Today's offshore market is shaped by a different set of challenges than those faced twenty years ago.

Geopolitical developments, increasing project complexity and growing global competition are affecting supply chains across the energy sector. At the same time, projects are becoming increasingly schedule-driven. Delays can have significant consequences for developers, contractors and equipment suppliers alike.

As a result, time to market has become one of the most important performance parameters in many offshore projects.

For suppliers, this means balancing flexibility with consistency. Customers expect rapid response times, reliable deliveries and full compliance with demanding quality standards. The ability to move efficiently from concept and tooling to production can make a significant difference to project success.
