Primo Germany celebrates Primo’s 60th anniversary

As part of the family-owned Inter Primo, PRIMO in Germany will participate in the 60th group anniversary. The celebration marks a milestone of innovation, company culture, and strong international trade relations.

Primo Germany celebrates 60 years of Primo

Primo in Germany is the result of decades of innovation and acquisitions within the plastic sector. Today the company runs plants in Berlin, Papenburg, and Hamburg with a total of 125 employees.

Primo was first established in Germany in 1990 with the acquisition of HP Profile south of Hamburg. Later and gradually, Primo took over the company Profilex and established itself as a significant player on the German market.

”Primo Germany has grown to be a worldwide supplier of gaskets for a range of industries and a significant player within plastic doors and windows. Primo Germany is also a preferred supplier of packing tubes for electric components to the automotive industry among other specialized plastic-based products,”

Krzysztof Debski, Business Unit Director at Primo Germany, says.

The decade long success of Primo in Germany is a combination of constant attention to client needs and being a part of the international Primo Group:

”The market has seen massive changes. Customers are demanding more sophisticated products and documentation. This is our challenge and our strength. Every day we strive to deliver excellent support, low prices and quick responses to the markets. Every time a customer suggests a new development, we should be there,”

says Krzysztof Debski.

In 2017 Primo bought all shares in Profilex and became the sole owner of the company, including its plant in Zhuhai, China where all Profilex products are manufactured.
Joachim Dausch Managing Director, Germany says: ”

“Primo tree plants in Germany is a good example of Inter Primo’s international strategy to place production facilities and sales teams wherever our clients are situated. That, combined with our strong commitment to our products and components living up to the highest standards in terms of quality and environmental impact, gives us a unique market opportunity. At the same time, we are focused on expansion and tighter integration with our international Primo family when it comes to development and client-support. To ensure and strengthen our position as a market leader, we need to think even more globally, work with green business models based on biodegradable products and recycling.”

Joachim Dausch also stresses that a future goal is to become CO2-neutral and help customers to do the same.

“For instance in Germany Primo is reusing 100 pct. of all scrap plastic. We are also using plastic in areas where steel and wood traditionally have been used with a negative environmental footprint, “ he says.

Today, Primo operates plants in nine countries – including China – and focuses on long term ventures with clients while taking the lead on environmentally sound production. Primo has succeeded with aggressive expansion, recently with the acquisition of Essentra in Netherland.
With the anniversary the founding family, Grunnet, wishes to mark the history of the company and plastic production in northern Europe during the last 60 years and even further back in time.

Customers, suppliers, and the press are welcome at the celebrations, which will also feature a tour of the production facilities.
