Primo Windows & Doors presents revolutionary product news at Fensterbau 2014

In late March 2014, Primo Windows & Doors will be exhibiting at the international Fensterbau fair in Nuremberg, Germany. We will be showing revolutionary new materials and ideas for the window and door production business – chief among these will be our new ultra-low U-value FiberCore material and RigiCore composite frames.

Visitors to Fensterbau can hardly miss the Primo stand – it’s dominated by a big U about three meters tall in the bright, new blue-and-yellow colour scheme of the Primo group of companies. The same U is the dominant feature of all communication surrounding the stand. Everywhere, you’ll see the huge letter U.

That’s because Primo has a number of solutions to help window and door producers to reduce the U-value of their products, and we are using our presence at Fensterbau to announce this to the global window and door production business.

Energy-conserving RigiCore frame system

One such solution is Primo’s revolutionary RigiCore system for the construction of frames for windows and doors. The RigiCore frame system is a combination of pultruded PUR profiles, FiberCore profiles and an outer skin of aluminium. RigiCore delivers amazing U-values, rigidity and durability. In the light of emerging new regulations, the window and door production business is looking for new materials and new methods, and RigiCore is Primo’s answer to the challenge. It is very rigid, it presents an attractive appearance, and last, but not least, it adds to the U-value reduction of the complete window.

Heating uses up 40 % of all energy

Residential heating costs energy – lots of energy. In fact, in the USA, 40 % of all energy consumption derives from the heating of residential and commercial buildings*. Every little step that can be taken towards a reduction of energy consumption in homes and offices can potentially mean huge savings for the environment and for the home owner, too.

Governments across Europe and elsewhere are imposing ever stricter regulations on how well houses must be insulated – and building components, too. Improving the U-values of windows and doors can make a really big difference, and window and door producers are therefore constantly looking for new and better materials.

FiberCore – a revolution in window profiles

FiberCore is an entirely new material for the production of extruded window and door profiles. It is a composite material consisting of 11 % organic fibres combined with advanced plastics, making it strong, light and weather-resistant, even in harsh climatic conditions.

The unique material combination makes FiberCore the ideal choice for window and door producers who are looking for a material which is:

  • Insulating - FiberCore has a U-value which is up 160 times better than aluminium
  • Maintenance free - FiberCore does not degrade over time as other materials do, and it is fully heat, cold and water resistant
  • Strong - FiberCore is extremely rigid and has exceptionally low shrinkage compared to other materials
  • Easy to fit - FiberCore can be mounted on existing windows without nails or tacks

System 4000 for producers of PVC windows

Primo Windows & Doors introduces its new concept for window and door construction – System 4000. Specifically aimed at Scandinavian and Northern European producers of windows and doors who are looking for new production methods, System 4000 combines high quality, flexibility in production and full design freedom.

System 4000 is a PVC window profile system combining all the benefits of plastic and composite windows: Durability, sustainability and good looks.

Our wide range of sashes and profiles makes it possible for window producers to design a window with high insulation value, full design freedom and zero maintenance for end customers.
