Totax now an integral part of Primo

With the acquisition in 2010 of the Danish medical tubing producer Totax, Primo entered the exciting business area of extruded tubing for the medical and dental sector.

Supplier of customized plastic tubing solutions to customers in the medical industry

Primo acquired the Danish company Totax Plastics in September 2010. Since then the whole operation has moved to Primo’s existing premises in Zory in southern Poland, near the Slovakian and Czech borders.

With the aquisition of Totax, Primo entered the arena of tube extrusion for the rapidly expanding segement of medical and dental polymer products.

The company has built up a new production department featuring an ISO-class-8 clean-room facility, with the possibility of upgrading to class 7. Medical extrusion is a strong part of Primo’s activity and further focus on its development is a strategic objective.

Primo specializes in the customized extrusion of different types of thermoplastics. Our experience and innovation make us a competent partner in product development and prototype production as well as in actual production.

Along with our customers, we create realistic solutions and ensure efficient and flexible production. Flexibility secures the best conditions for the production of prototypes. Furthermore, Primo establishes series productions where experienced employees ensure high quality in every delivery.

The handling of the products is carried out by specially trained employees in Primo’s clean-room facilities in Poland. The right properties are secured through cooperation with customers and suppliers, with innovative solutions used in the design and choice of materials.

With strict documentation and traceability systems already in place, and with the addition of the expertise found within Totax, Primo now plays an important part as supplier of customized plastic tubing solutions to demanding customers in the medical industry.
